INGLEWOOD, Calif., Nov. 8, 2025 — LA Clippers forward Kawhi Leonard will sit out “the next few games” because of a sprained right ankle, head coach Tyronn Lue said Saturday.

The 34-year-old missed his third consecutive contest when Los Angeles hosted the Phoenix Suns on Saturday night. Lue did not specify the exact severity of the injury but noted that medical examinations indicated it is not expected to be a long-term issue.

Los Angeles plays at home Monday and Wednesday before embarking on a seven-game road trip that starts Friday and spans two weeks.

Leonard appeared in the Clippers’ first three games of the season, averaging 24.3 points, 5.7 rebounds and 3.5 assists. He logged 37 minutes and scored 27 points in Monday’s loss to the Miami Heat.

Injuries have frequently interrupted Leonard’s tenure with the Clippers. He missed the entire 2021-22 campaign while recovering from a significant right knee injury and sat out the first 34 games last season because of ongoing issues with the same knee.
