New York Knicks swingman Josh Hart said on Sept. 24 he is ready to take whichever role head coach Tom Thibodeau assigns, even if that means beginning the 2025-26 season as a reserve.

Hart emphasized that his priority is doing what is “best” for the Knicks, according to the New York Post report published Wednesday. The 30-year-old entered training camp acknowledging that the club’s rotation could shift after offseason roster moves and that he is comfortable adapting to the coaching staff’s plans.

Since arriving in a 2023 trade, Hart has been a consistent part of Thibodeau’s lineup, valued for his defense, rebounding and versatility on the wing. With additional depth now on the roster, he said his focus remains on contributing in any capacity that improves the team’s chances of winning.
