Guard Jordan Clarkson said he was “filled with joy” as he returned to Utah on March 10, 2026, for the Knicks’ road game in Salt Lake City, even though his on-court role with New York has been reduced.
Clarkson, who spent several seasons with the Jazz before signing with the Knicks, acknowledged that his minutes and touches have dipped this year but insisted the trip still felt special. “It’s always good energy coming back here,” he said before tip-off. “The love is real.”
The 33-year-old was a key contributor during his time in Utah, winning the NBA’s Sixth Man of the Year award in 2021. With the Knicks, he has shifted to a reserve spot, averaging single-digit shot attempts after years as a primary scorer with the Jazz.
Despite the change, Clarkson emphasized his gratitude for both franchises. “The Jazz organization gave me an incredible opportunity, and now I’m focused on helping the Knicks any way I can,” he said.
Utah fans greeted the former fan favorite warmly during pregame introductions, offering an extended ovation that Clarkson acknowledged with a wave.
No further lineup changes were announced by Knicks head coach Tom Thibodeau, who said Clarkson’s playing time would continue to depend on game flow and matchups.
