Jake LaRavia reveals nasty mouth injury after Lakers-Sixers game

Los Angeles Lakers swingman Jake LaRavia left the court in Philadelphia with more than the usual bumps and bruises. After the Dec. 8 matchup against the 76ers, the 22-year-old showed reporters a bloody mouth wound that, according to the team, nearly cost him a tooth.
The injury occurred during in-game contact, leaving LaRavia with a visibly damaged gum line. Although the exact play was not immediately identified, training staff attended to him on the bench before he returned to action.
Postgame images captured LaRavia carefully inspecting the area and displaying the “gnarly” cut that drew widespread attention on social media. The Lakers did not offer a medical timetable but indicated the forward would receive additional dental evaluation once the club returned to Los Angeles.
