CHICAGO — Guard Jaden Ivey took to Instagram on Tuesday after being released by the Chicago Bulls, posting a series of expletive-filled videos in which he repeatedly declared, “I was a fornicator.”
The posts, which were later deleted but captured in screen recordings shared online, showed the 24-year-old pacing and speaking directly into the camera. Ivey criticized unnamed critics, referenced personal mistakes and vowed to “come back stronger.”
The Bulls announced Ivey’s release earlier in the day. The team did not immediately respond to a request for comment on the social-media outburst.
Ivey’s representatives also have not issued a statement. As of Wednesday morning, the guard’s Instagram account was active, but the videos were no longer visible.
The former first-round pick joined Chicago via trade last season. His contract had one year remaining at the time of Tuesday’s move.
