Utah Jazz rookie Ace Bailey exited Friday night’s 131-129 victory over the Detroit Pistons with a left hip strain and did not return after halftime.
The No. 5 overall pick logged 11 scoreless minutes before leaving the game at Delta Center in Salt Lake City. Bailey, a 6-foot-9 guard who entered the contest averaging 10.7 points and had reached double figures in four consecutive outings, was replaced in the starting lineup for the second half by Brice Sensabaugh. Sensabaugh matched his season high with 20 points.
Keyonte George paced Utah with 31 points and hit the deciding floater with 2.1 seconds remaining, helping the Jazz snap a four-game skid. The team travels to San Antonio for the second night of a back-to-back on Saturday.
