MIAMI — Tyler Herro returned from ankle surgery with 24 points, including the decisive floater in the final minute, as the Miami Heat beat the Dallas Mavericks 106-102 on Monday night, Nov. 24, 2025, at Kaseya Center.
The guard’s first appearance since September helped Miami claim its fifth straight victory and eighth in the past 10 games. Herro had been sidelined nine to 10 weeks and said the team had targeted this date for three weeks.
Herro missed his first four shots but later connected on nine consecutive attempts, finishing 12-for-18 from the field. His high-arching floater with 46 seconds left came moments after Bam Adebayo stole an errant inbounds pass from Dallas forward P.J. Washington, putting Miami ahead 104-102. Adebayo then hit two free throws with 6.4 seconds remaining to seal the win.
Washington led Dallas with 27 points. The Mavericks, appearing in a league-high 15th clutch game this season, erased a 13-point deficit to tie the score late before Miami closed it out.
Heat coach Erik Spoelstra called Herro’s immediate impact “amazing,” noting the team’s revamped offense that minimizes pick-and-rolls and emphasizes quick decisions. Spoelstra redesigned the scheme after last spring’s first-round sweep by Cleveland, bringing in former Memphis assistant Noah LaRoche as a consultant.
“He’s going to fit right in,” Spoelstra said. “He’ll amplify everything we’re doing.”
Miami played without leading scorer Norman Powell (groin) and was on the second night of a back-to-back after Sunday’s win in Philadelphia. Herro averaged 23.9 points on 47% shooting last season and earned his first All-Star selection.
“It was a long 10 weeks, but it went by fast,” Herro said. “Just being able to compete with the guys tonight was great.”
