Miami Heat All-Star guard Tyler Herro plans to play his first game of the 2025-26 season on Monday when the Heat host the Dallas Mavericks, provided there are no late setbacks, sources told ESPN.

Herro had surgery on his right ankle on Sept. 19 after injuring it during an offseason workout. The 25-year-old also managed a left-foot impingement last season before the ankle issue prompted the procedure.

Miami enters Monday at 11-6 and riding a four-game winning streak. The Heat have averaged an NBA-best 124.9 points per game under a revamped offense and are set to regain last season’s leading scorer.

In 2024-25, Herro averaged 23.9 points, 5.5 assists and 5.2 rebounds. While he has been out, veteran guard Norman Powell has contributed 24.9 points per contest to help fill the scoring gap.
