The Miami Heat plan to cut veteran guard Terry Rozier while he remains on leave during an NBA investigation into possible gambling violations, a report said Thursday, March 19, 2026.

Rozier, 32, was placed on administrative leave earlier this season after the league opened an inquiry into alleged betting irregularities involving games in which he played, according to the report. Details of the investigation have not been disclosed, and no formal charges have been announced.

The decision to waive Rozier would remove his contract from Miami’s books, making him an unrestricted free agent if and when the league clears him to return. Rozier joined the Heat in January 2024 after being traded from the Charlotte Hornets, averaging 16.4 points and 4.3 assists over two seasons in South Florida.

The Heat declined to comment on the report, and NBA officials have not provided a timeline for the investigation’s conclusion.
