The Atlanta Hawks said Friday that point guard Trae Young will have his sprained right medial collateral ligament reevaluated in approximately two weeks.
Young has been sidelined since injuring the knee during Atlanta’s victory in Brooklyn on Oct. 29. The setback has cost him 15 games, and initial projections suggested he might remain out until mid-December.
Before Friday night’s matchup with the Cleveland Cavaliers, the 26-year-old guard took part in light shooting during warm-ups. Through six games this season, Young is averaging 17.8 points and 7.8 assists.
Atlanta has compiled a 10-5 record without its All-Star. Forward Jalen Johnson has helped fill the void, producing 10 double-doubles and two triple-doubles over that span.
