The Memphis Grizzlies announced Friday that forward/center Brandon Clarke will undergo an arthroscopic procedure to treat knee synovitis suffered during offseason workouts.
According to sources, Clarke will be re-evaluated in six weeks. The club said the 29-year-old is expected to make a full recovery but did not specify when he might return to game action.
Clarke missed the final month of the 2024-25 season with a posterior cruciate ligament sprain that healed without surgery. Earlier in his career he tore his left Achilles tendon late in the 2022-23 campaign, sidelining him for most of the following season.
The Gonzaga product appeared in 64 games last year, averaging 8.3 points and 5.1 rebounds in 18.9 minutes. He has two seasons and $25 million remaining on his contract.
Friday’s update also included positive news on two other injured Grizzlies. Center Zach Edey (ankle) and forward Jaren Jackson Jr. (toe) have been cleared to increase basketball activities. The team projects Edey to miss another six to nine weeks, while Jackson is expected back in four to six weeks.
