Milwaukee Bucks forward Giannis Antetokounmpo is expected to be in the lineup Saturday night against the Chicago Bulls, provided he passes his final pregame evaluation, according to league sources.

The two-time MVP has been out since Dec. 3 with a right calf strain, missing eight games in which Milwaukee went 2-6. The Bucks enter Saturday at 12-19, 11th in the Eastern Conference.

Antetokounmpo previously described the injury as a soleus strain, the same issue that sidelined him during the 2024 playoffs. Team medical staff will conduct routine tests prior to tip-off before giving final clearance.

In 17 appearances this season, the 30-year-old is averaging 28.9 points, 10.1 rebounds and 6.1 assists while shooting 63.9% from the field. Milwaukee is 9-8 when he plays and 3-11 without him.

The Athletic first reported that Antetokounmpo was on track to return.
