MILWAUKEE, Mar. 15, 2026 — Milwaukee Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo left Sunday’s 134-123 victory over the Indiana Pacers after an awkward landing on a dunk late in the third quarter.
The two-time MVP remained on the court for two more possessions, converting another dunk and attempting two free throws after being fouled. He then headed to the locker room and did not return. Antetokounmpo finished with 31 points, 14 rebounds and eight assists in 30 minutes.
Head coach Doc Rivers told reporters his “guess” is that the forward hyperextended his knee, but emphasized it was only a preliminary assessment. Antetokounmpo, 31, said he does not plan to undergo imaging and believed he could have continued playing, but followed the advice of the team’s medical staff.
“I’m just going to go back home, sleep, see how I feel tomorrow, try to lift some weights,” Antetokounmpo said. “If I have a little bit of discomfort, then I’ll go from there. As of now, I’m not really bothered.”
This season Antetokounmpo has already missed a career-high 31 games, including two extended stretches because of right calf strains. He also sat out Milwaukee’s 122-99 loss in Atlanta on Saturday with a sprained left ankle.
