Milwaukee, Oct. 14, 2025 – Milwaukee Bucks forward Giannis Antetokounmpo said he hopes to conclude his playing days with a Greek club once his NBA career ends.

Speaking on ANT1’s “The 2night Show,” the two-time NBA Most Valuable Player, now 30, told host Giorgos Liagas that he envisions several more seasons in the United States before moving home. “I can play in the NBA until I’m 36-38,” Antetokounmpo said, according to a BasketNews translation. “I’d like to end my career in a Greek team.”

Antetokounmpo is entering his 13th NBA season next week. He is under contract with the Bucks for two more years and can become a free agent in the summer of 2027.

The Athens native began his professional career with Filathlitikos in Greece’s B League before entering the 2013 NBA draft. Asked which club he might choose upon returning, he mentioned several possibilities by name, including Filathlitikos, Olympiacos, Panathinaikos and Aris. “I don’t want to live in the United States,” he said. “As soon as I leave the NBA, I want to return to Greece.”

Antetokounmpo reiterated that any Greek team could be an option, emphasizing his desire to finish where his basketball journey started.
