Raptors sign former No. 1 pick Markelle Fultz to 10-day contract

The Toronto Raptors have agreed to a 10-day deal with guard Markelle Fultz, agent Raymond Brothers of I Am Sports & Entertainment told ESPN’s Shams Charania on Monday.
Fultz, 27, appeared in 21 games for the Sacramento Kings last season and has been playing this year with Raptors 905, the franchise’s G League affiliate.
Selected first overall by the Philadelphia 76ers in the 2017 draft, Fultz endured significant injuries early in his career, logging fewer than 20 contests in each of his first two NBA seasons. Over time, he has developed into a dependable perimeter defender and facilitator.
His most productive campaign came with the Orlando Magic in 2022-23, when he averaged 14.0 points and 5.7 assists while shooting 51.4% from the floor.
Toronto remains locked in a crowded battle with the Atlanta Hawks, Philadelphia 76ers, Orlando Magic, Miami Heat and Charlotte Hornets to avoid the Eastern Conference play-in tournament.
