CLEVELAND — Forward Max Strus will miss a minimum of four more weeks as he continues to recover from surgery on his broken left foot, the Cleveland Cavaliers said Tuesday.

The 27-year-old sustained a Jones fracture—a break of the bone linking the pinkie toe to the base of the foot—during offseason workouts and underwent surgery on Aug. 26.

According to the team, recent imaging showed the fracture has not fully healed, requiring additional recovery time. Initial projections had Strus resuming basketball activities three to four months after the procedure.

Strus is scheduled for another evaluation within the next four weeks with orthopedic surgeon Dr. David Porter, who performed the operation, along with the Cavaliers’ medical and training staff.

In 50 games last season, including 37 starts, Strus averaged 9.4 points, 4.3 rebounds and 3.2 assists, helping Cleveland secure the top seed in the Eastern Conference.
