Feb. 3, 2026 — With the NBA trade deadline two days away, several high-profile deals reshaped rosters and altered fantasy basketball outlooks, according to ESPN fantasy analysts André Snellings and Eric Moody.
Harden–Garland swap shakes up backcourts
The Cleveland Cavaliers acquired 10-time All-Star James Harden from the Los Angeles Clippers in exchange for guard Darius Garland and a second-round pick.
Harden, 36, ranks 12th in total fantasy points and owns a 31.3% usage rate this season, his highest since 2019-20. In Cleveland he will share touches with Donovan Mitchell and Evan Mobley, a shift expected to drop him from borderline top-10 to roughly top-25 fantasy status. Mitchell’s production could also slip into the top-15 range, while Mobley and Jarrett Allen may benefit as pick-and-roll targets.
Garland, 26, heads to Los Angeles after missing 25 of Cleveland’s first 51 games with a toe injury. His 2022-23 average of 38.9 fantasy points per game would place him in today’s top 40, giving him upside for a larger role as the Clippers’ primary creator alongside Kawhi Leonard, provided he returns to full health.
Utah adds Jaren Jackson Jr.
The Utah Jazz obtained forward Jaren Jackson Jr. plus John Konchar, Jock Landale and Vince Williams Jr. from the Memphis Grizzlies. Memphis received Walter Clayton Jr., Kyle Anderson, Taylor Hendricks, Georges Niang and three first-round selections.
Jackson averaged 19.2 points as Memphis’ primary scorer during Ja Morant’s extended absence. In Utah he becomes the third option behind Lauri Markkanen (27.4 PPG) and Keyonte George (24.2 PPG). Reduced volume projects Jackson to slide from top-60 to about top-80 in points formats, though improved efficiency could keep him near the top-50 in category leagues.
Boston lands Vucevic, Chicago adds Simons
The Boston Celtics filled a frontcourt need by bringing in center Nikola Vucevic from the Chicago Bulls. Chicago received guard Anfernee Simons and second-round considerations.
Vucevic, 16.9 PPG with 9.0 RPG and 3.8 APG this season, leads the league with 578 career double-doubles and has surpassed 10,000 rebounds and 900 made three-pointers. His floor-spacing is expected to bolster Boston’s offense while reinforcing interior play.
Simons, averaging 14.2 points off the bench and topping NBA reserves with 130 made threes, offers Chicago an immediate perimeter scoring boost as the franchise pivots toward a younger backcourt. Both players are on expiring contracts, preserving future flexibility for their new teams.
