NEW YORK — Minnesota Timberwolves guard Anthony Edwards will be back on the floor Wednesday night against the New York Knicks after missing four games with a strained right hamstring, head coach Chris Finch confirmed.
Edwards was injured just three minutes into the Timberwolves’ home opener against the Indiana Pacers on Oct. 26, the team’s third game of the season. The club announced Monday that the 22-year-old had been cleared for full-contact activities and listed him as questionable before Finch said he was ready to go.
Finch noted that Edwards “looked like himself” during recent workouts, prompting medical staff to clear the three-time All-Star for game action at Madison Square Garden.
In the only two full games he has played this season, Edwards averaged 36 points. The current four-game layoff already surpasses the number of games he missed in each of the past three seasons, when he appeared in 79 contests annually.
