Luka Doncic piled up 26 points, 11 assists and 10 rebounds on Sunday in Katowice, Poland, steering Slovenia to an 86-69 victory over Belgium and its first win of EuroBasket 2025.
The Los Angeles Lakers guard delivered only the fourth triple-double recorded at the tournament since 1995. He also became the youngest player since Tony Parker in 2007 to reach 400 career EuroBasket points, doing so at 26 years and 184 days.
After back-to-back losses to Poland and France—games in which Doncic scored 34 and 39 points—Slovenia will meet Iceland on Tuesday in Group D.
Antetokounmpo keeps Greece perfect
In Limassol, Cyprus, Giannis Antetokounmpo returned to action with 27 points, eight rebounds, four assists and two steals, powering Greece past Georgia 94-53. The Milwaukee Bucks forward had sat out Greece’s 96-69 win over Cyprus the previous day following a 31-point outing against Italy.
The result pushed Greece to 3-0 and six points atop Group C. The team could clinch a place in the round of 16 later Sunday if Cyprus defeats Spain or Italy overcomes Bosnia and Herzegovina.
EuroBasket’s 24-team group phase is being contested in four countries. The top four teams from each group will advance to the knockout stage in Riga, Latvia, scheduled for Sept. 6-14. Sunday’s remaining fixtures featured France vs. Israel and Poland vs. Iceland.
