The Los Angeles Lakers ruled out Luka Doncic for Sunday’s home matchup against the Sacramento Kings because of a left finger sprain and a lower left leg contusion, the team said Saturday.

The All-Star guard will be re-evaluated in roughly one week. Team officials remain hopeful the injury will not require additional time beyond that initial window, according to sources cited by ESPN.

Doncic, averaging 46 points over the Lakers’ first two games, joins fellow star LeBron James on the injury list. Los Angeles faces a busy stretch with games Monday against the Portland Trail Blazers, Wednesday at the Minnesota Timberwolves, and Friday at the Memphis Grizzlies before returning home to host the Miami Heat next Sunday.

The Lakers also announced center Jaxson Hayes will sit out against Sacramento, missing his second consecutive game with soreness in his left knee.
