Brooklyn, N.Y. — Brooklyn Nets center Day’Ron Sharpe said Saturday he intends to “keep on showing growth” during the 2026-27 campaign after returning from surgery this past season.
Sharpe characterized the recently completed year as a career best and told reporters his focus now is on building off that momentum. The 22-year-old big man missed time while recovering from the procedure but finished the season back in the rotation and healthy.
“I just want to keep stacking good days and showing growth,” Sharpe said, adding that a full summer of workouts should help him arrive at training camp in top condition.
The Nets have not disclosed details of the surgery, but Sharpe’s availability down the stretch provided a boost to the team’s frontcourt depth. He said regaining rhythm after the layoff was challenging, yet the experience has reinforced his commitment to improving each offseason.
Sharpe, a first-round pick in 2021, posted personal highs in several statistical categories this season. He credited the coaching staff and teammates for trusting him as he worked back from the injury and noted that consistency will be his top priority moving forward.
Brooklyn opens training camp in late September, giving Sharpe nearly six months to prepare.
