MINNEAPOLIS — Golden State will face Minnesota on Monday night without two of its stars, as guard Stephen Curry (right knee soreness) and forward Draymond Green (back injury) have been ruled out, head coach Steve Kerr said.

Anthony Edwards will also miss the matchup for the Timberwolves because of a foot injury announced late Monday.

Curry and Green both played Sunday afternoon when the Warriors defeated Minnesota 111-85 in the same arena, but Kerr told reporters the discomfort in Curry’s knee increased Monday morning, prompting the decision to keep him out. Green’s back issue also led the medical staff to sideline him.

Kerr added that he is “hopeful” both veterans can return Wednesday when Golden State visits Utah.

The Warriors’ injury list is already lengthy. Forward Jimmy Butler III is out for the season with a torn ACL, and forward Jonathan Kuminga will sit Monday because of a bone bruise and hyperextended left knee.

Tipoff at Target Center is scheduled for 8 p.m. local time.
