LOS ANGELES — A blowout victory Sunday night pushed the LA Clippers to a 15-3 tear that began before Christmas and forced one outspoken fan to make good on a culinary wager.

Tyronn Lue’s club routed the Brooklyn Nets 126-89 at Intuit Dome, extending a run that dates to Dec. 20, the day the head coach challenged his 6-21 team to finish the remainder of the season 35-20. Within hours of Lue’s goal, Robert Flom, managing editor of the independent site 213Hoops, posted on X that he would “print and eat” the message if the Clippers ever went 15-3 this year.

When the final horn sounded Sunday, the Clippers’ social-media staff posted a photo of the printed tweet, tagging Flom. Lue followed up in his postgame comments, saying the writer “has to go live” while keeping his promise. Flom later confirmed on a podcast he will consume the paper during Monday’s episode.

The turnaround has coincided with Kawhi Leonard’s most consistent scoring stretch of his career. The forward poured in 28 points against Brooklyn, marking his 24th straight game with at least 20. “I don’t know how healthy that is for you,” Leonard said when told of Flom’s plan.

Los Angeles is 10-3 in January, the league’s best record this month, and now sits 21-24, good for 10th place in the Western Conference—an unlikely position compared with where the team stood when Lue laid down his challenge.
