The Los Angeles Clippers anticipate that center Ivica Zubac will be in uniform for Saturday’s home matchup with the Boston Celtics, according to sources who spoke with ESPN insider Shams Charania.
Zubac, 29, has missed the last four games after suffering a Grade 2 sprain of his right ankle on Dec. 20 during a victory over the Los Angeles Lakers. The 7-footer landed awkwardly late in the first quarter, immediately limped to the locker room and did not return. He logged five points and two rebounds in 11 minutes before exiting.
The big man’s comeback coincides with a hot stretch for Los Angeles, which enters the weekend riding a six-game winning streak and aiming for its seventh straight victory.
Through 28 appearances—all starts—Zubac is averaging 15.6 points and 11.1 rebounds per contest this season.
