The Los Angeles Clippers will be without guard Bradley Beal for the rest of the season as he prepares to have surgery on a fractured left hip, agent Mark Bartelstein said Wednesday.
Bartelstein, of PrioritySports, told ESPN’s Shams Charania that the 32-year-old is expected to make “a full and complete recovery” after consultations with several specialists and the Clippers’ medical staff.
Beal exited Saturday’s matchup against the Phoenix Suns during the first half because of hip soreness. Head coach Tyronn Lue said Monday that imaging was scheduled and that the three-time All-Star was likely to miss multiple games; further evaluation revealed the fracture.
This season, Beal has appeared in six games—his first in Los Angeles—posting career lows of 8.2 points and 1.7 rebounds. Over 14 NBA seasons with the Washington Wizards (2012-23), Phoenix Suns (2023-25) and Clippers, he has averaged 21.4 points and 4.3 assists in 807 games, 758 of them starts.
The veteran guard signed a two-year, $11 million contract with the Clippers last offseason, which includes a player option for 2026-27 that could allow him to enter free agency next summer.
Los Angeles is 1-3 without Beal this season. According to ESPN Research, the Clippers have allowed 128.5 points per 100 possessions in the 121 minutes Beal has played, compared with 113.8 points in the 359 minutes when he has been off the court.
