The Boston Celtics introduced their 2025-26 City Edition jersey on Wednesday night, presenting a “Gold Standard” design meant to celebrate the franchise’s long-standing success.

The new look features a white base with gold numbers and a gold “Boston” wordmark. Black outlining frames the lettering and numerals, marking the first time in team history that a uniform omits the club’s traditional green.

Red Auerbach’s signature sits above the jock tag, commemorating the coach who guided Boston to nine NBA championships during his 16-season tenure from 1950 to 1966, including an unprecedented streak of eight straight titles between 1959 and 1966. Auerbach compiled a 795-397 regular-season record and a 90-58 postseason mark with the Celtics.

An 18-time champion patch is stitched at the back neckline, acknowledging the organization’s title haul from its first crown in 1957 to its most recent in 2024, when Boston defeated the Dallas Mavericks in five games.

While gold accents appeared on the team’s 2019-20, 2022-23 and 2023-24 City Edition kits, the latest version pushes the metallic theme to the forefront. The club has not yet announced when the “Gold Standard” uniforms will debut on the court this season.
