CLEVELAND — The Cleveland Cavaliers will be without leading scorer Donovan Mitchell for Thursday night’s road game against the Chicago Bulls after the guard suffered a bruised left eye earlier in the week.

Mitchell’s eye became bloodshot when he collided with teammate Evan Mobley during a practice session. Despite the injury, he played Tuesday in Milwaukee, finishing 4-for-14 from the field for 19 points and later noting he “could not really see out of his left eye.”

“He was having issues last game, like blurry vision,” head coach Kenny Atkinson said before tipoff at United Center. “It’s not a scratched cornea, nothing dangerous, but we have to let it clear up.”

The three-time All-Star is averaging 28.0 points, 5.9 assists and 4.5 rebounds while shooting 48% in 61 appearances this season.

Cleveland will also remain without center Jarrett Allen, who missed his seventh straight contest Thursday because of right knee tendinitis and has already been ruled out for Saturday’s matchup with the New Orleans Pelicans.
