CLEVELAND — Cleveland Cavaliers forward Evan Mobley will be sidelined for an estimated one to three weeks with a left calf strain, the team announced Tuesday.

Mobley felt tightness in the calf following Monday night’s 114-98 win over the Orlando Magic. An MRI conducted Tuesday confirmed the strain, marking the second time this season the 7-footer has injured the same calf.

The reigning Defensive Player of the Year missed five games in December with a Grade 1 strain to the left calf. Through 40 appearances this season, the fifth-year pro is averaging 17.9 points, 8.8 rebounds and 2.0 blocks, the latter ranking second in the NBA.

During Monday’s contest, Mobley recorded his 500th career blocked shot, becoming the youngest player in franchise history—at 24—to reach that milestone.

Cleveland carries a four-game winning streak into Wednesday night’s home matchup with LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers. The Cavaliers are 28-20, a season-best eight games above .500, and will embark on a season-long five-game road trip after hosting Los Angeles.
