CHICAGO — The NBA has issued a $35,000 fine to Chicago Bulls guard Collin Sexton for making an obscene gesture during Monday’s 123-115 loss to the Brooklyn Nets, the league announced Tuesday night.

The incident occurred with 1:31 remaining in the third quarter at United Center. After missing the first of two free throws, Sexton sank the second, then stared at the rim while backpedaling and raised his middle finger toward the court.

Monday marked Sexton’s second appearance with Chicago after arriving from the Charlotte Hornets in last week’s deadline deal that sent Coby White to Charlotte. Coming off the bench, the 25-year-old is averaging 19.0 points and 4.0 rebounds on 40.6% shooting through his first two games with the Bulls. He is set to become a free agent at season’s end.

Chicago has dropped all three games since the roster overhaul and has lost five straight overall.
