CHICAGO — Chicago Bulls guard Josh Giddey could rejoin the lineup Thursday in Minnesota after missing the past three weeks with a strained left hamstring, head coach Billy Donovan said Tuesday.

Speaking before the Bulls faced the LA Clippers at the United Center, Donovan noted that team medical staff has reported no setbacks in Giddey’s recovery. “Everything I’ve gotten from Josh and medical is that there were no setbacks and he’s doing well,” the coach said.

The 21-year-old Australian has been sidelined for 11 consecutive games, last appearing in a Dec. 31 loss to the New Orleans Pelicans, when he exited less than a minute into the second half.

In his second season with Chicago following a trade from Oklahoma City, Giddey is averaging a team-best 19.2 points, 8.9 rebounds and 9 assists. He has recorded seven triple-doubles and was building a strong case for his first All-Star selection before the injury, according to Donovan.

Chicago entered Tuesday night ninth in the Eastern Conference at 20-22. Forward Patrick Williams missed the game against the Clippers with a sprained right ankle and is listed day-to-day.
