The Milwaukee Bucks have re-signed forward Thanasis Antetokounmpo to a one-year agreement, the team announced Sunday.

Sources told ESPN the deal is worth $2.9 million. The 33-year-old missed the entire 2024-25 season after tearing his Achilles tendon.

Antetokounmpo, the older brother of two-time MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo, last suited up for Milwaukee in 2023-24. He appeared in 34 games off the bench, averaging less than one point per contest.

While preparing for his NBA return, the forward is currently representing Greece at EuroBasket. Since joining the Bucks in 2019, he has posted career averages of 2.4 points, 1.6 rebounds and 7.7 minutes across 198 regular-season games.

His new contract keeps him alongside Giannis, whose agents — Giorgios Panou and Alex Saratsis — are expected to meet with the Bucks this offseason to discuss the superstar’s future, according to earlier reporting.

Giannis has spent all 12 of his NBA seasons in Milwaukee and produced 30.4 points, 11.9 rebounds and 6.5 assists per game last season.

The Associated Press contributed to this report.
