New York Knicks guard Jalen Brunson said he was not asked for input before the team opted to hang a new NBA banner at Madison Square Garden, but made clear he is comfortable with the organization’s choice.
The Knicks’ decision, reported on December 18, 2025, was made entirely by team executives. Brunson told the New York Post he learned of the plan after it was finalized and sees no issue with the process.
“It’s the organization’s call,” Brunson said, according to the report. “I have no problem with it.”
The guard, in his third season with New York, has emerged as a franchise cornerstone since signing in 2022. While the franchise has not specified when the new banner will be unveiled, team officials indicated the move is intended to acknowledge a recent achievement.
Brunson added that his focus remains on the court, where the Knicks are pushing for a playoff spot in the Eastern Conference.
