Myles Hesson poured in 25 points on Wednesday to guide Great Britain to an 89-83 upset of Montenegro, securing the country’s first EuroBasket victory since 2013 and extinguishing Montenegro’s bid to reach the round of 16.
Hesson also collected seven rebounds, while Akwasi Yeboah added 23 points as Britain snapped a four-game skid in Group B. Montenegro, which needed a win to advance, committed 18 turnovers despite a 31-point, 11-rebound, seven-assist effort from Chicago Bulls center Nikola Vucevic. The result eliminated both teams and allowed Sweden to clinch a knockout spot even after a 74-71 loss to Lithuania.

Germany completed group play unbeaten with a 91-61 rout of Finland. Lithuania finished second, Sweden grabbed the final berth in third, and the knockout stage opens Saturday in Riga, Latvia.
Portugal survives Estonia after Queta ejection
Portugal edged Estonia 68-65 to move out of Group A despite losing Boston Celtics center Neemias Queta with 4:34 left in the third quarter. Queta, who had 15 points, was tossed after two technical fouls with Portugal ahead by one.
Estonia led 64-61 entering the final minute before Rafael Lisboa tied it with a three-pointer and hit four free throws down the stretch, finishing with 17 points and five assists. Portugal will meet Germany on Saturday for a quarterfinal berth.
Latvia delights home crowd
Host nation Latvia cruised past the Czech Republic 109-75, a game witnessed by President Edgars Rinkēvičs. Brothers Davis and Dairis Bertans scored 20 points apiece, and Atlanta Hawks center Kristaps Porzingis contributed 16 points and seven rebounds. Latvia claimed third in Group A and will face Lithuania in the last 16.
Turkey clinches group, outlasts Serbia
Turkey secured first place in Group A with a 95-90 win over Serbia, closing the game with six free throws in the final minute. Houston Rockets center Alperen Sengun posted 28 points, 13 rebounds and eight assists, hitting two foul shots with 41 seconds left to break a 90-90 tie.
Shane Larkin added two free throws with 15 seconds remaining, and Sengun sealed it with another pair 10 seconds from the horn. Reigning NBA MVP Nikola Jokic paced Serbia with 22 points, nine rebounds and three steals. Turkey will face Sweden on Saturday, while Serbia meets Finland.
