PHILADELPHIA — Charlotte Hornets forward Brandon Miller exited Saturday night’s 125-121 defeat to the Philadelphia 76ers after experiencing soreness in his left shoulder, the team said.
Miller checked out with 10:50 remaining in the second quarter, shortly after Joel Embiid hit a jumper. The 6-foot-8 wing appeared to be in significant discomfort and held his left arm while walking to the bench during a timeout. Charlotte ruled him out for the rest of the game a few minutes later. The club did not specify when the injury occurred or provide an update on its severity.
Before leaving, the second overall pick in the 2023 NBA draft recorded four points and one assist in nine minutes. Miller opened the season Wednesday by scoring 25 points and handing out seven assists in a home victory over the Brooklyn Nets.
The former Alabama star was limited to 27 games last season after undergoing surgery in January to repair a torn scapholunate ligament in his right wrist.
The Hornets fell to 1-1 with the loss, while the 76ers improved to 2-0.
