Police body-camera footage released on March 6, 2026, captures NBA forward Dillon Brooks being taken into custody on suspicion of driving under the influence.
The video begins with officers approaching Brooks’ vehicle during a nighttime traffic stop. While speaking with the 28-year-old, one officer remarks, “Smells like a dispensary,” before asking Brooks to exit the car for a series of field-sobriety tests.
Brooks is then shown complying with instructions and eventually being placed in handcuffs. According to the footage, the arresting officers cited the strong odor inside the vehicle and Brooks’ performance during the roadside evaluation as reasons for the DUI charge.
The release of the bodycam video comes several months after the initial arrest. Court records indicate that Brooks faces a misdemeanor DUI count; a hearing date has not yet been scheduled. Neither Brooks nor his representatives have publicly commented since the footage surfaced.
