STAMFORD, Conn. — Former NBA guard Ben Gordon had all criminal counts against him dismissed on Monday, after finishing a probation program tied to his 2023 arrest at a Connecticut juice shop.

A state judge had approved the program last year. With its completion, weapons and threatening charges will be expunged from Gordon’s record.

Defense attorney Darnell Crosland said Gordon has focused on improving his mental health since the incident. “Mental health is really important and the court saw his commitment to doing the right thing in life and that is why they sealed his record and dismissed all of his charges,” Crosland said in a statement.

Police arrested Gordon on his 40th birthday in 2023, shortly after several 911 callers reported that he was acting aggressively inside a Stamford juice shop. Officers said he continued to behave erratically when they arrived and was taken to the ground and handcuffed outside the store.

The former Connecticut Huskies star has publicly discussed living with bipolar disorder and depression, conditions he has linked to previous legal troubles.

Drafted third overall by the Chicago Bulls in 2004, Gordon spent 11 seasons in the NBA, winning the league’s Sixth Man Award as a rookie. He later played for the Detroit Pistons, Charlotte Bobcats and Orlando Magic.
