Indiana Pacers forward Aaron Nesmith has agreed to a two-year, $40.4 million contract extension that keeps him under contract through the 2028-29 season, agent Mike Lindeman of Excel Sports Management said Monday night.

The agreement, finalized hours before the NBA’s deadline for veteran extensions on Oct. 20, 2025, includes a trade kicker and represents the maximum salary Indiana could offer under league rules.

Nesmith, 26, emerged as one of the Pacers’ top perimeter defenders during the 2024-25 campaign. He posted career-best shooting marks, hitting 51% from the field, 43% from three-point range and 91% at the free-throw line.

His impact grew in the postseason, where he started all 23 games of Indiana’s run to the NBA Finals. Assigned to guard elite scorers such as Jalen Williams, Jalen Brunson, Giannis Antetokounmpo and Darius Garland, Nesmith also shot 49.2% from beyond the arc. According to ESPN Research, that is the highest three-point percentage in a single postseason by any player with at least 100 attempts.

The extension secures a key member of the Pacers’ core as the franchise looks to build on last season’s playoff success.
