The Portland Trail Blazers have reached an agreement with free-agent guard Javonte Cooke on a two-way contract, according to his agent Jerry Dianis, who disclosed the deal to Shams Charania of ESPN on October 19, 2025.
Cooke, a 6-foot-6 guard who went undrafted in 2023, appeared in three preseason games for Portland, averaging 3.3 points and 1.7 rebounds in 7.5 minutes per contest. He had been waived on Friday but remained under consideration for a two-way slot, as reported by Sean Highkin of The Rose Garden Report. His previous agreement with the club was a non-guaranteed training-camp deal.
The 26-year-old followed an unconventional path to the NBA. After closing out his collegiate career at Division II program Winston-Salem State, he played in both the NBA G League and the Canadian Elite Basketball League. Last season, Cooke logged 42 games with the Oklahoma City Blue, averaging 17.0 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 2.8 assists in 28.2 minutes while shooting 42.4 percent from the field and 33.5 percent from three-point range.
Cooke fills the Trail Blazers’ final two-way slot, joining Caleb Love and Sidy Cissoko. Because the team had one open two-way position, no corresponding roster move was required.
