The Atlanta Hawks have cut guard M.J. Walker, the team confirmed on Tuesday night.
The move comes only one day after the 27-year-old signed a training-camp contract with the club. Walker entered the league undrafted in 2021 and has spent the past four seasons in the G League, suiting up for the Westchester Knicks and, most recently, the Greensboro Swarm. His NBA résumé includes a 10-day hardship deal with the Phoenix Suns during the 2021-22 season, when he logged eight minutes across two games.
Walker is expected to be on an Exhibit 10 agreement. If he reports to the Hawks’ G League affiliate, the College Park Skyhawks, and remains there for at least 60 days, he would be eligible for a bonus of up to $85,300.
