The Philadelphia 76ers have signed forward MarJon Beauchamp and waived guard Emoni Bates, the team announced in a press release.
Beauchamp, 25, was taken with the No. 24 pick in the 2022 NBA Draft. The 6-foot-7 wing has already appeared for the Milwaukee Bucks, Los Angeles Clippers and New York Knicks, posting career averages of 4.1 points and 1.9 rebounds in 135 games while playing limited minutes.
The Yakima, Wash., native most recently agreed to an Exhibit 10 contract with the Portland Trail Blazers before being waived on Oct. 7. Multiple reports indicate his representatives are steering him toward the 76ers’ G League affiliate, the Delaware Blue Coats. If the swingman remains with the Blue Coats for at least 60 days, he would be eligible for a bonus of up to $85,300.
Bates, 20, signed his own Exhibit 10 deal with Philadelphia last month. The former Cleveland Cavaliers second-round pick averaged 3.0 points across 26 NBA appearances last season while on a two-way contract. His release opens a roster spot as the Sixers finalize preparations for training camp.
