The Oklahoma City Thunder signed guard/forward Buddy Boeheim to an Exhibit 10 contract and waived wing Payton Sandfort, the club announced. Sandfort had been on the roster for roughly 24 hours.

Boeheim, 25, played 20 NBA regular-season games with the Detroit Pistons between 2022 and 2024 while on two-way deals. Last season he suited up for the Oklahoma City Blue, the Thunder’s G League affiliate, averaging 12.5 points, 3.3 rebounds and 1.8 assists in 26.3 minutes across 40 games. A reliable perimeter shooter, he converted 37.7% of his 9.2 three-point attempts per contest.

The Exhibit 10 agreement positions Boeheim to return to the Blue as a returning-rights player. If he spends at least 60 days with the G League club, he can earn a bonus of up to $85,300 in addition to his standard G League salary.

Sandfort, an undrafted rookie, is expected to be designated an affiliate player. That status would allow the Blue to control his G League rights should he sign an NBAGL contract.

Oklahoma City’s preseason roster remains at the 21-player maximum: 15 on guaranteed standard contracts, four on Exhibit 10 deals and two on two-way pacts.
