LOS ANGELES / CLEVELAND — Two NBA teams adjusted their preseason rosters on Monday, bringing one player back and parting ways with three others.

Clippers bring back former first-round pick

The Los Angeles Clippers re-signed guard TyTy Washington Jr. and waived fellow guard John Poulakidas, the club confirmed. Washington, a 2022 first-round selection, originally joined the Clippers on an Exhibit 10 contract in August but was released in late September. Because he remained with the team long enough to qualify, he had already secured his Exhibit 10 bonus of $85,300.

Poulakidas, a 6’5” undrafted rookie out of Yale, also held an Exhibit 10 deal. The sharpshooter averaged 19.4 points and 3.3 rebounds while shooting 45.1 percent from the field, 40.8 percent from three and 89.7 percent at the line in 27 games for the Bulldogs last season.

Cavaliers trim training-camp roster

The Cleveland Cavaliers waived forwards Miller Kopp and Chaney Johnson, both of whom signed Exhibit 10 contracts on September 26. Kopp appeared in two preseason games; Johnson played in one.

Kopp, 26, went undrafted out of Indiana in 2023 and has spent the past two seasons with the Oklahoma City Blue, the Thunder’s G League affiliate. In 48 games for the Blue during the 2024-25 campaign, he averaged 12.3 points, 5.4 rebounds, 1.9 assists and 1.1 steals while shooting 41.8 percent from beyond the arc.

Johnson, a 6’7” wing who was not selected in the 2025 NBA Draft, averaged 9.1 points, 4.9 rebounds and 0.9 blocks in 38 games as a key reserve for Auburn’s Final Four squad last season.

Following Monday’s moves, both Los Angeles and Cleveland continue to shape their rosters ahead of the regular season.
