The Orlando Magic have signed guard Javonte Smart and forward Phillip Wheeler to Exhibit 10 contracts, the team announced on Oct. 13.

To make room, the club waived guards Jalen Crutcher and Alex Morales, both of whom had been in camp on Exhibit 10 deals.

Smart, 26, owns two seasons of NBA experience after stints on two-way contracts with the Bucks, Heat and 76ers. He spent the entire 2024-25 campaign with the Magic’s G League affiliate in Osceola, where he averaged 14.1 points, 3.9 assists, 2.5 rebounds and 1.1 steals in 44 games while shooting 45.9 percent from the field, 35.9 percent from three and 73.7 percent at the line. Earlier this summer he represented Team USA at the FIBA AmeriCup, helping the squad capture the bronze medal.

Wheeler, a 6-foot-9 forward who went undrafted in 2022, has spent most of the past three seasons in the G League and Puerto Rico. He made his NBA debut last season, appearing in five games for Philadelphia on a 10-day hardship contract. Reports of his agreement with Orlando first surfaced in early September.

Because Crutcher and Morales were released from Exhibit 10 contracts, each can earn a bonus of up to $85,300 if they remain with Osceola for at least 60 days during the 2025-26 G League season.

Following Monday’s moves, Orlando’s offseason roster remains at the maximum 21 players.
