October 8, 2025 — Australian point guard Taran Armstrong is leaving the NBA system for Europe, finalizing a two-year contract with Dubai Basketball of the EuroLeague.
The agreement contains an NBA exit clause that would allow the 23-year-old to return stateside during the 2026 offseason, according to multiple reports.
Armstrong joined the Golden State Warriors on a two-way deal in late February but never logged a regular-season appearance. He did see action with Golden State’s G League affiliate, the Santa Cruz Warriors, averaging 11.5 points, 8.2 assists, 5.9 rebounds and 1.4 steals across 11 games (28.5 minutes per contest).
Golden State extended a two-way qualifying offer this summer and retains Armstrong’s restricted free agent rights, enabling the club to issue future qualifying offers while he plays abroad.
Serbian power KK Partizan was also pursuing the guard, who participated in the Warriors’ 2025 Summer League campaign.
Before his brief NBA stint, Armstrong starred for the Cairns Taipans in Australia’s NBL, where he posted 17.1 points, 4.6 rebounds and 4.7 assists per game.
He joins a Dubai roster that already features former NBA players Davis Bertans, Dwayne Bacon and Justin Anderson. The club debuted in EuroLeague play on September 29 with an 89–76 victory over Partizan.
