The Cleveland Cavaliers head into their first preseason game Tuesday night against the Chicago Bulls still holding one vacant two-way contract slot, a situation shared by six other NBA clubs.

Cleveland has already committed two of its three allowed two-way deals to Luke Travers and NaeQwan Tomlin. The final opening could be claimed by one of several training-camp invitees on Exhibit 10 agreements, including Tristan Enaruna, Chaney Johnson, Miller Kopp and Norchad Omier.

Former No. 7 overall draft pick Killian Hayes is also in camp on an Exhibit 10, but his five seasons of NBA service make him ineligible for a two-way contract. His status bears watching while the Cavaliers manage early-camp injuries to Darius Garland and Max Strus.

Alongside Cleveland, the Nets, Mavericks, Heat, Thunder, Magic and Trail Blazers each have one two-way slot available as preseason play opens. Many of these teams are effectively running open tryouts, allowing Exhibit 10 players the chance to convert their deals.

Franchises may shuffle players on and off two-way contracts until March 4. However, a player must sign by January 7 to receive the full two-way salary of $636,435 for the 2024–25 season.

For now, the Cavaliers’ final two-way position remains up for grabs as they tip off their preseason schedule.
