The Los Angeles Lakers have reduced their roster ahead of the opening of training camp, waiving 7-foot center Kylor Kelley, according to Monday’s entry in the NBA’s official transaction log.

Kelley, 26, signed an Exhibit 10 contract with Los Angeles in August. It was the second consecutive year he agreed to that type of deal with the organization; he followed a similar path last fall, was released before the regular season and spent the majority of 2022-23 with the South Bay Lakers in the NBA G League.

The Oregon State alumnus owns 11 games of NBA experience—eight with the Dallas Mavericks and three with the New Orleans Pelicans—averaging 3.1 points and 3.5 rebounds in limited action.

In 32 appearances for South Bay last season, Kelley averaged 11.5 points, 7.3 rebounds and 2.4 blocks, highlighting the rim-protecting skill set that keeps him on NBA radars.

If he returns to South Bay and stays with the affiliate for at least 60 days, his Exhibit 10 agreement would make him eligible for a bonus of up to $85,300.
