New York Knicks forward OG Anunoby says his pursuit of a long-awaited individual accolade remains unchanged as the 2025-26 season approaches, acknowledging that several hurdles stand in his way.
Speaking on Sept. 27, Anunoby noted that earning the honor — which has escaped him throughout his professional career — is still a major personal goal. “I know what I’m up against, but that doesn’t lessen my drive,” he said.
The 28-year-old wing stressed that team success will be central to any personal recognition. “Awards usually follow winning,” he added. “If we play the right way and win games, everything else can fall into place.”
Anunoby has developed a reputation as one of the league’s better two-way players, yet the accolade he seeks continues to elude him. He remains focused on improving both ends of the floor while helping New York contend in an increasingly competitive Eastern Conference.
