The Cleveland Cavaliers on Friday released a 20-man roster for their 2025 training camp, set to begin in Florida after a team media day Monday in Cleveland. The club is coming off a 64-18 season, its first under head coach Kenny Atkinson.

Donovan Mitchell, Evan Mobley, Darius Garland and Jarrett Allen headline the group that produced the Eastern Conference’s best record last year. Cleveland bolstered its depth during the offseason by re-signing forward Larry Nance Jr., acquiring guard Lonzo Ball via trade and adding center Thomas Bryant in free agency. Guard Max Strus is expected to miss the opening stretch of the season and could be sidelined until around the All-Star break, creating additional minutes on the wing for Sam Merrill.

Second-year guard Jaylon Tyson has been tasked with defending Mitchell in practice as the coaching staff evaluates his defensive potential. Camp invitee Killian Hayes is slated to log significant preseason minutes while Garland’s workload is limited and Mitchell’s minutes are managed, though the guard may ultimately spend most of the year with the G League’s Cleveland Charge.
