The Toronto Raptors and the Los Angeles Clippers still plan to complete a trade that would send forward Kawhi Leonard to Los Angeles, even as the NBA continues an active investigation connected to the deal, the New York Post reported on July 30, 2026.

According to the report, both organizations remain “committed” to moving forward and have not altered the framework of the agreement while the league reviews the circumstances surrounding the proposed transaction.

Details of the investigation have not been disclosed publicly, and the NBA has not provided a timetable for its conclusion. League officials also have not commented on whether the probe could delay or void the trade.

Leonard, 35, spent last season with Toronto after signing a short-term contract in 2025. The two-time NBA Finals MVP averaged 24.6 points, 6.2 rebounds and 4.1 assists in 64 regular-season games for the Raptors.

The Clippers are expected to pair Leonard with All-Star guard Paul George, reuniting the duo that played together in Los Angeles from 2019 to 2023. The Raptors would receive an undisclosed package of players and draft picks once the league approves the deal.
