Minnesota Timberwolves guard LaMelo Ball has been named in a civil lawsuit that accuses him of being a “nightmare tenant,” only weeks after his unexpected trade to Minnesota, according to the New York Post.

The suit, filed earlier this month, alleges Ball failed to meet obligations under a residential lease and left the property in poor condition. No dollar figure for damages was disclosed in the documents cited by the Post.

The 24-year-old star, who spent the first five seasons of his NBA career with the Charlotte Hornets before the reported July trade, has not publicly responded to the filing. Representatives for the Timberwolves also have not commented.

The legal action marks an abrupt off-court complication for Ball as he prepares for his first season in Minnesota. Further court dates had not been set at the time of publication.
